Theatre has the power of intimate connection. The art is dynamic and able to deeply connect with those who experience it. Theatre can truthfully portray the human condition and allow us to reflect on our own experience.

When the realities of another person’s life become your own, you grow more vulnerable. As actors, we must dare to walk on the stage, open to what the play and audience are going to offer each night. In order to create true connection with the audience and fellow actors, we must lay down our pride and let the character work.

As humans, we are afraid of being vulnerable. But vulnerability is crucial to genuine connection and believable theatre. As an actor, I hope to cultivate spaces where connection through vulnerability can take place.
